This position is a vital part of the construction team which designs, constructs, repairs and maintains structures using various types of materials and is responsible for the full range of rough and finished skilled carpentry work.
Responsibilities:
Design, construct, remodel, retrofit and repair interior and exterior structures made of wood, drywall, plaster, concrete or brick
Work with instructions and/or blueprints from Site Superintendent
Utilize chisels, planes saws, drills and sanders to repair and erect structures
Join materials with nails, screws, staples or adhesives
Work on top of stilts, ladders, and top beams of buildings
Check work progress to ensure that it meets quality standards, codes and specifications
Use levels, rules, framing squares, and surveying equipment to ensure everything is level and secure
Work with prefabricated buildings
Build stairs and other structures
Create structures for pouring concrete
Erect scaffolding
Install partitions, doors and windows
Ensure all safety standards are followed when working on construction job sites
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Basic construction knowledge on Structures, Building Envelopes, Finishes.
Understanding of the ITC Brand and Value Proposition.
Ability to communicate, liaise and work in conjunction with Owners, Trades and Consultants.
Good communication skills.
Experience / Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years’ experience as carpenter in residential construction (includes rough and finished carpentry)
Red Seal Ticket
Must be open to performing physical activities (lifting equipment up to 50lbs)
Demonstrated ability to safely use manual tools and equipment.
